How can change the transition name for a status?

I would like to change the transition name for "Backlog" to "To Do".

Hi @Sean F_ ,

first of all you need to figure out if the project is a team-managed or company-managed project.

Changes for company-managed projects could impact other projects.

Btw, for company managed , as JIRA admin, you need to update workflow following this article https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/work-with-issue-workflows/ otherwise, for team-managed project you need to update the workflow using this guide https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/create-edit-and-delete-transitions-in-team-managed-projects/.

In both cases,if the transition is not reused in the workflow you can just edit the name otherwise you need to create a new one transition and remove the previous one.
