How can I add a new filter that allows me to select tasks without a filled "estimate" field. I read about the ability to save search results as a new filter - but that doesn't work. I need to be able to filter by the "estimate" field, if it is not filled.

Hi @Ekaterina Velekdan

Is this the "Estimate" field on a board? If so, this field references the estimation type of the board itself. To locate the estimation type:

  1. Go to options (3-dots icon in top-right) > Board Settings
  2. Select Estimation from the left-hand menu
  3. Check the Estimation Statistic - this is usually story points or original time estimate

You can then search via the field mentioned in Estimation Statistic - so for example if this was story points:

  1. Click on Filters > Advanced issue search
  2. Next to the search button, select "Switch to JQL" if not already activated
  3. Enter "Story Points" is empty and press Search

You can add further JQL to the search to refine the results. From here, you can then save the filter via the "Save As" button at the top.

Or if you want this filter on a specific board, you could create it as a Quick Filter on the board itself:

  1. Go to options > Board Settings
  2. Choose Quick Filters from the left-hand menu
  3. Give the Quick Filter a name - and then, enter "Story Points" is empty as the JQL
  4. Press Add

It'll then show as a quick filter at the top of the board :)
