Hi Team,
How can i set a condition to calculate multiple field values should be equal to one main field?
Requirement : I have set up different custom fields to track a number of issues taken up for each team and one main custom field which is total of all child custom field.
I want to add a condition that child fields count total together should be equal to parent field count and should not exceed count.
Please let me know if this is possible?
Thank You!
What problem are you trying to solve by doing this?
This seems more like a reporting need (solvable with dashboards, filters, etc.) rather than setting custom values in some issue. And it is unclear from your question: which issue would contain these number-of-issue values.
Kind regards,
Bill
Hi @Bill Sheboy
Problem statement: We are trying to track planned efforts for each user by role working on the issue. Example (Original estimate -20 PD's) sub fields estimates for QA-5PD's; Development-10 PD's; BA- 5PD's.
I want to add a condition to track these efforts, Sub fields estimates should be equal to original estimations.

Thanks for that information, and this does sound like something solvable by reporting.
I recommend creating a draft of what you would want to see, and then check if that is possible with the built-in dashboard gadgets and saved filters, or the standard roadmaps. If not, investigate the Atlassian Marketplace for reporting addons: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/
Although it would be possible to add custom fields and automation rules to sum up the values, changes in the users, roles, and how you want to report the information could lead to a bit of maintenance/re-work.

Hello @shravya chinthapatla
How are you wanting to activate checking this condition? Are you trying to attach this to a workflow transition, or base it on some other trigger event like when an issues is created, or check these values on a schedule?
What do want to happen if the condition is violated?
How is the parent/child relationship created between the issues? Is the parent issue an Epic and are the child issues in the "Child Issues" section of the Epic?
