Santhosh Gosula January 15, 2024

Hello team,

Good Day!!

We are trying to increase the JVM memory in jira 5 version servers but we didn't find any article related to this version. Can you please provide any notes/article related to increasing of JVM memory in Jira 5 version servers or provide the similar command for Jira5 version servers (For Jira 8: tomcat8w //ES//%SERVICENAME%.).

Thanks in advance.

We are trying to increase the JVM memory in jira 5 version servers but we didn't find any article related to this version.

That's not surprising given that Jira v5 is more than A DECADE OLD!

When you say the 'memory' of JVM, are you referring to the heap size/ space? If so, follow the directions for Jira Server v9 and see how you go.

Failing that, good luck trying to find such topic specific documentation for such an ancient version of Jira Server.

Hello David,

Thanks for your assistance on my request.

We tried this  the directions for Jira Server v9 article instructions earlier but we failed at this below step.

Windows service

4.Run the following command:

  • For Jira 8: tomcat8w //ES//%SERVICENAME%.

  • For Jira 9: tomcat9w //ES//%SERVICENAME%.

These above commands are not supporting in older Jira 5 version. So we are looking for a command for Jira 5 version. Is there any luck to find this command for Jira 5 version ?Please advice.
