As long as you're using the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant, this shouldn't pose a challenge. You may have some additional cleanup after the migration is complete, but the data should migrate.

Here's Atlassian's documentation on preventing duplication of data: https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloudkb/jira-cloud-migration-assistant-duplicates-and-tracking-entities-1063170066.html

Hello @shankar

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

I agree with @Robert DaSilva . If you use JCMA to perform the migration there should not be a problem.

If the field in your source system is the same field type and has the same configuration as the field in the destination Cloud instance, then JCMA will use the existing Cloud field and migrate the data into that field and use that field where the same named field has been used in your issues, filters, etc.

If the two fields are different field types or have different configurations then JCMA will create in Jira Cloud a separate custom field for the migrated custom field and it will append (migrated)  to that field name. This will be reflected in your migrated data wherever that custom field was used.
