We have got a JIRA sandbox for evaluation purpose. We created lot of components for learning purpose. Now, we want to start a fresh for some reasons.
How can we reset or clean up all the things in the environment?
If you really do want to scrub everything (issues, projects, users, all the config) and return a Jira to the initial start up bare system, there's a quick and easy cheat for this.
In the import directory under jira-home, there is a file called something like startupdatabase.xml - if you go to Admin -> Restore system, and tell it to import that, it will give you a "clean" Jira.
If instead of deleting everything, you wanted to have more control over which configuration items to delete, you could try our app called the Cleaner for Jira.
The app provides one location to see all the projects, custom fields, issue types and many other items such as workflows, workflow schemes etc. This makes it easy to choose the items that are important and those that are not. Bulk delete is as simple as checking all the items you want to delete and then pressing one button.
