How do I bring in the Hours Assessment field into gadgets?

One of my team members would like to use a gadget to bring in and sum the Hours Assessment field. I thought that the Two Dimensional Filter gadget would work, but for some reason, numbers fields are not available. Does anyone have insight or a workaround?
