How do I build a query on the 'Status' field in Jira?

I am trying to filter on a specific status of 'readyfordev', however I cannot find the 'Status' column in the list of applicable columns to filter on. I also cannot find an answer to this question. Is there an administrative level answer to this question? Or is this 'Status' field built so that you cannot reference it?

Hey @Paula

The JQL should look something like this:

status = "Ready for dev"

(it is case/spell sensitive)

Let me know if this is what you were looking for.

Here are a couple articles on JQL in Jira.

FYI - you will need to be using the 'Advanced' search feature to input the above JQL (query).

If you are using the 'Basic' search feature, you will be able to click on the Status drop-down and this will list all the available statuses in your Jira instance (unless there is some permission attached to a specific status type).

If the status 'Readyfordev' (may be 'ready for dev' as Brittany suggests) is not shown here, chances are the status does not exist.

Something else to check for is that you have not been logged out of Jira (as you will not be able to search if you have been).

Good-luck
