Some of our testers don't have Bitbucket access, but they do have a testing environment named in the same way as the branch. Currently we ask developers to simply comment the branch name, but adding some automation will be nice.
The way I was thinking about it is for this value to be populated when an issue is transitioned to Test.
Any ideas?
Actually there's already a custom field for that. The name of the custom field is Development. So, you need to configure your project to show this custom field in your issues, etc. And yes, you need to link with your bitbucket account.
Hello,
Do you mean that you want to see to what branch a Jira ticket is linked? Then you should create an application link from your Jira to Bitbucket and connect a Jira ticket with a branch. In this case you will be able to see all connected branches to a Jira ticket in the development web panel in the issue detailed view. You can find more info here:

Thanks! We do have this link, and there's a link that says "1 branch" (in case there's only one). Clicking it will give you the branch name if you have Bitbucket access; however my question is for people who don't have Bitbucket access (and also, having it as a field will be nice to avoid an extra click).
