How do I create tables with markdown in new JIRA issue view?

The old editor allowed me to create tables easily denoting columns and rows with | 

I cannot figure how to generate this in the new view.

Hi Darren,

It isn't yet possible at the moment to create/view table on the new issue view at this moment. You can create/view on the old view though.

There's a bug raised to include the feature into the new issue view which you can track here: Wiki Markup does not work in the New Jira Issue View.

Otherwise, you can switch off the new issue view temporarily until the feature is available which you can perform through the profile setting or shortcut here: https://<instance>.atlassian.net/secure/ViewPersonalSettings.jspa

Thanks for the response. There are some features I really like in the new view, so I don't want to switch too often.
