How do I know if my target Jira version suits my existing Confluence version

santosh kumar Devata February 14, 2023

Hello Community,

I'm planning to upgrade my Jira DC to 9.4.x soon.

We have Confluence running V7.13.x and Bitbucket running V7.21.x

So, If I move to Jira 9.4.x, will the existing Confluence and bitbucket be OK with the App links and the integration will stay?
I'm checking for compatibility study.

As I can check the Application links article from Atlassian KB,  matrix, https://confluence.atlassian.com/applinks/application-links-version-matrix-779174762.html

Each of my above App uses different AppLink Version.

Does my Jira stay OK ( integrated to Confluence and Bitbucket) after I move to 9.4.x?

Awaiting a suggestion here.

Regards

Hello @santosh kumar Devata

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

As the article says:

You can link between products that bundle different versions of the AppLinks plugin, except as indicated below.

"as indicated below" is referring to the Known Incompatibilities section. If the App Links versions for your products are not called out in the Known Incompatibilities section, then you should be fine.

It is always advisable to try upgrades and test integrations with test instances before making changes to production instances.
