How do I properly configure jira to use self signed ssl?

Kervin Jones January 18, 2012

I am trying to install a self signed ssl cert for our jira box. This box wil be used internally only. I have followed the Running JIRA over SSL or HTTPS document but i cannot connect via https. Originally i was connecting to https but it was for another jira box that i no longer want to share the ssl with. Can you help me trouble shoot what I am missing?

If you dont want to share the SSL, regenerate the cert, its easy if its self signed, see link one below:

If you want to modify the (tomcat?) in JIRA standalone, follow this: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Running+JIRA+over+SSL+or+HTTPS

If you want to front JIRA with apache, see http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Integrating+JIRA+with+Apache
