Background:

I migrated all of my source code repositories to GitHub and adjusted all of my Jira projects to use the GitHub Integration extension. Then I deleted all the Bitbucket versions of the repositories.

Now, in Jira, I created a new ticket. Then, I created a new branch. I was unable to pull this branch down to my PC. ON a closer inspection, it had created this branch on Bitbucket.

As a result, I had to create a branch locally and push it. So now, in Jira, it things there are 2 branches:

  1. The good GitHub branch
  2. The bogus Bitbucket branch

So, there are two issues here:

  • Jira should have created a branch on GitHub and not Bitbucket. Bug?
  • I find no way to eradicate this bogus branch as there is no actual Bitbucket repository for the branch to have been created by the system.
