When creating tickets, Resolution field request was not there before. How do I hide this or make this go away.
It sounds like one of two things happened.
1. The resolution field is now on the issue creation screen. The resolution field is ALWAYS required when presented on a screen. It should only be presented on the screen for the transition to close or if you resolve before closing on that transition.
2. The JIRA admin made the field required in the field configuration scheme. In this case the field will be required even if not on the create screen. I've seen this before with new users. They mistakenly think the field will only be required when presented on the screen.
You need to figure out which happened and change it.

First of all, you should go to the project settings and see which screen is linked to the project. Then go to Issues --> Screens --> find a screen that you want to change and remove the Resolution field.
