I would like to have access to information such as people's phone numbers, schedules, and the departments where they work.
To have access to the personal information of employees, you need to create cards for each. You can easily do it with HR: Employee User Profile.
This add-on allows you to create such cards manually or add them with AutoImport. While filling in the card you could build your own sections and fields. For example, not only people's phone numbers, schedules, and the department, but also employment details, inventory and essential notes you think are worth storing.
