So i'm working on a project, where numerous Epics have been created and then broken down to User Stories, Bugs, Test Cases etc etc. I drill down into the Epic and can see the list under the heading 'Issues in Epic'. I need to show at a high level how many tickets associated with each Epic. As Epics have been created and we don't know how much work is entailed.
Are you using Agile Boards, either Scrum boards or Kanban boards with Backlog enabled?
If so, there is an Epics pane on the board Backlog screens and those show how many issues are in the Epics.
You could also create a Save Filter that retrieves all the child issues, then use the Pie Chart gadget on a Dashboard to show the information based on using the Epic Link for the Statistic. That will show the counts per Epic, as each child issue notes its parent Epic in the Epic Link field.
