How do we make CC user as reporter in jira?

Hema TB April 3, 2019

we are sending mail to jira from no reply email id keeping one user in CC. After the ticket created in jira, in the reporter field, it is showing as for ex. noreply@gmail.com. Instead of this, we want CC user should come in Reporter field of jira.

SOLVED WITHOUT PLUGINS:

1) When configuring E-mail Handler select CC Assignee checkbox;

2) Add post-function that copies Assignee field value to Reporter field to the initial transition;

3) Add second post-function that clears Assignee field if needed.

4) Reorder post-functions so the one that clears Assignee field is below the other;

Now you are all set.

Hello Hema,

I hope you are having a nice day.

Unfortunately, the default e-mail handler of JIRA does not have the functionality to add e-mail addresses on CC as the reporter of issues, however, there are some plugins that provide this kind of customization:

E-Mail This issue

In-Mail Handler PRO

CCC EZGooey Message Handler

Let me know if this information helps.

Hi, @Petter Gonçalves  I have configured the incoming mail handler using Email This Issue plugin. Can you please let me know how we can achieve CC user as a reporter in jira using Email this issue plugin.

Thanks in Advance
