How do you find the duration of time an issue was in a past status?

There's a gadget out there, Average Time in Status, which pulls in your filter's issues and tracks historical status duration by dates for X and historical duration for Y. I'm looking for a way to track a filter's issues historical statuses against their duration in those statuses, so status name would be X and duration is Y. Has anyone attempted this?

Hi Kyle, maybe it's not exactly what you're looking for, but there's an add-on called JIRA Suite Utilities that introduces a tab in the issue screen (Transitions summary) with the time this specific issue was in each status.
