How do you make your own custom configuration fields in Jira?

I am trying to create custom fields like revenue impact, volume, system, etc.

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? That information will display in the Type column on the "View all projects" page under the Projects menu.

For Company Managed projects only Jira Administrators can create new custom fields. Are you a Jira Administrator?

Besides creating the field it may need to be added to a Field Configuration and added to screens to be available in the project.

For Team Managed projects a Project Administrator for the project can make new custom fields, or reuse the custom fields that have been created with a Global Context for use in Company Managed projects.
