How does issue security work for "user custom field value" and "Group custom field value"?

Hi community,

I have a question since I am new. How does issue security work for "user custom field value" and "Group custom field value"?

Can someone explain it to me more clearly with perhaps example since I cannot understand how it works?

In short, the user selected in the user custom field will be included in the security level and gain browse access to the issue.

Same as if you added a specific user to the security level, except that a user picker is a variable.

You select a user, they can view the issue, you remove them from the field, and if they do not fit into any other criteria in the security level, they will no longer be able to see the issue.

The group picker goes in the exact same way for every member of the group.

Must say I'm not a big Cloud fan, so I could be wrong, but to my knowledge this behaviour is the same on every deployment (Server/DC/Cloud).
