How exactly to upgrade

Hi

There are a couple of different guides out there on how to upgrade. The issue I have s that I'm not sure if I have to use the JIRA Core or the JIRA Software installer to do the upgrade:

When I look at my licenses I seem to have the both but only one has a license attached. Is that an issue:

And when I try to download the installer it says I have to download both but it only downloads the core!

There is also the issue this guide tells me I can put JIRA in an upgrade mode. But this option does not exist for me (https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/upgrading-jira-applications-861253088.html).

I run JIRA on 64bit Linux server. Can you tell me exactly which installer I have to use and how I should run the update? I found those 2:

atlassian-jira-core-7.10.2-x64.bin

atlassian-jira-software-7.10.2-x64.bin

Hello Daniel,

When you click the Update button for jira Software in the Versions and Licensing page, the system will download the latest JIRA Software or JIRA Service Desk application file from the Atlassian Marketplace that matches your Currently Installed Jira Core Version and automatically installs it for you.  But your current Jira Core version and Jira software version line up and there is nothing for the app to do.

Downloading using the JIRA Core Download Button at the bottom of the Version and Licenses page, will download the Jira Core installer to update JIRA Core only, but not the Software or Service Desk applications, at this point using the in app upgrade will upgrade these applications as well.

To fully update your JIRA Core along with JIRA Software or JIRA Service Desk and you will need to manually download the JIRA Software Installer here or the JIRA Service Desk installer here.  Updating using this installer will update both Jira Core and Jira Software OR Jira Core and Jira Service Desk together, but cannot upgrade all three at the same time, which is where the secondary in app upgrade button comes into play.  (Install Core then go back and upgrade the other two in app, or install core and software and go back to upgrade service desk in app)

But since you only have Core and Software and do not have Service Desk this does not apply to you, and you just need to download the desired version for JIRA Software Installer which is the "atlassian-jira-software-7.10.2-x64.bin" file you noted, and instructions to update can be found here:
