How have different issue layouts for Epics and Initiatives?

We dont often capture a lot of information on an Initiative card, its often just used as a grouping tool for epics. 
Now we are looking to capture specific information on an Initiative card however if I change the default configured fields, it changes the view of the Epic cards as well. 

Is there any way to un link these?

Hi @Brittany Hitch , 

If you want to only change the edit and view of Initiative issue type, then you will need to create a new screen scheme (if you haven't already) for it. That way you can add the fields you have created to only initiative card.
