Hello - I am using JIRA Cloud. In my kanban project, I would like to have Component show at the top of the backlog/board, much like Epic, Label, and Type currently appear, so that I can quickly expose the drop down and filter on various components (see example for Label in screen shot).
I have confirmed that issues on the board and in the backlog have Components assigned to them. I have also confirmed that my project's general filter is not excluding issues with assigned components.
Any ideas will be appreciated...thank you!
Keith
Hello @Keith Tasker
That is not currently a supported feature in Jira.
Jira does not automatically make a Components filter available like it does for Epics, Labels, Types, etc.
And Jira does not support customizations to make new Quick Filters based on Selection Lists.
At this time the only option is to make Query-based quick filters for each Component value and maintain that set of filters manually.
EDIT: And I have not found an open change request for this in Atlassian's public backlog. I did find one from several years ago that was closed as "Won't Fix".
Thanks so much for the response, Trudy. At least I know now to stop trying.
Keith
