Hi ad.
I am having a problem in my project, in the system jira configuration as administrator.
On the 'issues' tab > on the menu on the left of the screen, there is 'Field configurations', I want to edit the field 'Story point estimate', but it is currently locked, so how to unlock this field
I look forward to hearing from you soon, thanks
Hi there!
Please note that Story Points are used in Agile projects with Jira Software, the Story Point estimates is used on Jira Cloud with next-gen projects (the new templates on project creation). This field is therefore "locked" by Jira to keep it safe from errors as it's a core field when using next-gens!
If you'd like to see it in action, you should go ahead and create a next-gen project, find more details here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/get-started-with-next-gen-projects-945104903.html
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Thank you for answering
I can understand as it is the default case of the system, so it cannot be unlocked.

You got it! The fact that it's locked is not preventing a lot of things but it's ensuring that your Jira Software Cloud features will keep on working!
Have a great day!

@miikhy If I am using a Fibonnacci sequence I would like to restrict this field to only be able to enter certain numbers, but since is locked this is not possible. Does this means I cannot enforce this so that the users have to choose between a set of numbers (1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34). ??
