I have a custom date field that needs to be populate. Below it or beside it i want to add some quick language on how to select the proper date. How can this be accomplished>?
Hi @Matt Fisher,
I believe there is documentation on how to add a description to your custom date field. Unfortunately, the description text is only visible on the edit and create screens, not the view screen. You could make the field a required field on creation so that users have to fill in the field, and therefore will also view the description associated with it.
Hope this helps

Hi Matt,
You can provide a description to the custom field when configuring it in the global settings. This description will then be visible in the Create Issue screen and Edit Issue screen, right under the field. See this simple example:
For this case, the description of the field Date started is "date and time when it started"
In this description, you can add specific instructions on how to select the date

This doesn't seem to work for muli-select fields, any ideas why?

You can do that in the field configuration used for that issue type in the project. Open the field configuration, go to the field, and click edit. You can change the description. It will only appear in projects using that field configuration.
