This is currently possible! We've been rolling this out to everyone and if it's not currently available to you, it will be by the end of this week.
Assigning issues from Slack is quite simple once you've got notifications flowing in to a channel!
- Click the Action Menu (...) on the issue preview for the issue you want to assign, and click the Assign option
- Select the assignee from the dropdown list and click Submit
- You're done!
You can also Transition or Watch issues from the action menu as well.
