How to assign multiple issue types which are not in order?

I have created a custom field in JIRA and wanted to select few issue types which are in order 3, 6,9..etc,. Kindly let me know how can we choose multiple issue types for custom field

Custom fields do not contain issue types, so I am stuck on what you mean by "choose multiple issue types for custom field"
