I am looking to auto-populate sprints based on dates assigned. I would like to avoid using an automation rule because I read that it would require sending a web request and I'm not familiar with that. I read that advanced roadmaps can also be used for this so I'd prefer to go with that route.
So, I created an advanced roadmap for a scrum board that has sprints (issues sourced from a filter I created). I also went to Configure > Scheduling > and clicked on "Inferred dates - Sprint dates". However, sprints didn't automatically populate under the Sprint column. I clicked on "Auto schedule" which appeared on the top-right hand corner, but when I previewed changes, nothing happened.
Why aren't sprints auto-populating?
Hello @Arlene.Amaya
I don't believe you can use Advanced Roadmaps to automatically assign issues to Sprints.
As per this document, Auto Schedule will not change the Sprint value for issues.
Auto-schedule for Scrum teams
When working with Scrum teams, the Auto-scheduler will not change or assign sprint values for issues at the epic level and higher.
When you select Infer Dates and select Sprints that just means that issues assigned to the Sprint will show the sprint's start and end dates for the duration of the issue. The issues have to already be assigned to the sprints.
