How to automatically set parent task to Done if all sub tasks are done?

Is it possible to automatically set parent task status to In Progress if all sub tasks are in progress? And also to Done if all sub tasks are done without any plugins? If with plugins, what is the best free plugin to use?

I would look into the Workflow Extensions plugin, while it is a paid plugin I found personally that it is worth the price. As an example, I have set up automated transitions for parent issues when sub-tasks are transitioned. 

I would also add, it may not be the best course of action to automate issue closures if you require a resolution option to be chosen by the user, though that is the flexibility of JIRA :)
