Hi,
I want to block the use of the "parent" screen for changing details of its "child". Today, using this screen confuses users and doesn't always work properly.
Can it be blocked for editing and left as read-only?
Hello @Eliyahu Klein --CNTR
I don't think that is possible at this time.
The ability to edit the child issues in this table would be based on the ability of the user to edit the child issue if they were viewing it directly. For instance, if they have the ability to change the status of the child issue when viewing it directly, then they would have the ability to change the status of that child issue when it is displayed in the table in the parent issue.
Jira does not natively support much in the way of restricting edit for specific fields, and I have not heard anything about a suggestion to make these child displays read only. If you think that would be a valuable feature, I suggest that you provide that suggestion directly to Atlassian through a support case or using the Feedback option in Jira itself (under the Help button).
