Hi Susanne,

In order to bulk edit issues you need a few things:

  • Bulk edit permissions on the Global permissions page (given by administrators)
  • Browse Issues and Edit Issues permissions on the project's permission scheme. If there are multiple projects involved you need to have this permission on every scheme.
  • The field you're trying to edit needs to be on the Edit screen for every issue in the scope of your search filter. There might be several schemes if you have multiple issue types and projects in scope.

Hi Josh,

Thank´s for your fast answer.

I have all the conditions that i needed, but still get an error message

"N / A Edit Issues NOTE: You do not have permission to edit the selected 40 issues or at least one issue has a status that forbids editing"

How can I find which status does not allow bulk change? At least one issue has a linked issue from another project, could it be a cause of error?
I'm a jira administrator with global permisson so the bulk change issue should not be permissions.

Looking forward to your reply

You need to look at each status on each workflow that editing hasn't been restricted on issues in that status: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/restricting-edit-based-on-issue-status-121422.html

And double check permissions.
