How to bulk edit workflow status?

I have a bunch of stories under an epic summary with in progress workflow status that need to change to on hold. I don't see an option within the bulk edit to make that adjustment. How do I complete this task without having to adjust manually?

In Step 2 Choose Bulk Action you need to choose Transition Issue rather than Edit Issues

Just to add to Trudy's answer, if you regularly perform bulk changes and/or prefer a more "interactive" experience over Jira's bulk change process, you may like JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing and inline-editing all your issue fields. You can edit your fields either individually, or in bulk, using copy/paste. This also works for the issue status.
