How to change reporter and how to track time in jira

valentina.larussa August 22, 2019

Hi,

Thanks again for previous answer. It was very useful :)

I have two more fast questions, if I can.

1) To change reporter to a task, how can I do? I tried similar way as for changing ownership to filters but it is not possible (via sharing the task with the person I want to become the new Reporter). I read that I require rights to do so but I would like to ask you first.

2) If I create a task today and I put it in progress tomorrow, in order to track that the status changes from To Do to In progress within 24 hours, can I use the filter "Status category changed date"?

Thank you very much again for kind reply earlier today.

Kind regards

Valentina

Hi @valentina.larussa

  1. To change the Reporter you simply edit the Reporter field on the issue to change to the new reporter.
If you don't see the Reporter field or cannot edit it then you need to get with your Jira Project admin to make sure you have the "Modify Reporter" permission and that the Reporter field is present on the Edit screen for that issue type in the project.
  2. In order to see which issues have changed status in the past day use this query:
    status changed after -1d
