How to change the default issue type displayed at the create Issue screen, for each board?

I have two boards, one for story and one for bugs. How to automate the default issue type in each board?

Hi @andrepola  - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Default Issue Types are identified in the Issue Type Scheme. And then the Scheme is attached to a Project, not a Board. So, you are not able to set the Default based on the Board - only for the Project.

Ok, it seems not to be a good idea to create a board for each issue type, after all.

Jira picks up the last 'issue type' set. If you want to change this then create a record and change the issue type to the one you want. Try then creating another record and you will see it will pick up the last issue type used. What some people do is change covert the issue type through 'move' which does not change the default. Hope this helps.
