i am devloping a code in which i need to check whether the project is closed or not . How to check the project status using a api.

It depends entirely on how you are flagging a project as "closed".

Jira does not implement a concept like project status.  You'll need to describe how you are deciding a project is closed, then we can help you get to it over the REST API.

A project does not have any status, that is why you can not check it. Or give more details on what you are trying to do.
