How to connect Stash to JIRA OnDemand for User Management

For the life of me, I can't figure this out. Is it event possible? 

I'm trying to set up self-hosted Stash to use OnDemand JIRA. I've been able to set up application links just fine.

I'm unable to add Stash to JIRA as a User Server, or have Stash connect to JIRA. 

I did notice this help article says this isn't possible but I find that hard to believe that Atlassian wouldn't have such an important feature unless we're an edge case with a self hosted stash and ondemand JIRA: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/Connecting+Stash+to+JIRA+for+user+management

Anyone know anything about how to do this?

Hi Charlie,

Sorry, but unfortunately there is nothing we can do regarding this since JIRA Cloud and Stash are two completely different products. The users database is stored on Cloud and the Stash one is hosted on your server, there is no way to connect them.
