How to create a SQL query and save the same?

what is the process to create a query and save the same SQL statement in the dashboard?

Is there any way to do this?

You can not create SQL queries and put the result into dashboards without a plugin.
There are some plugins such as SQL Reporter for Jira which let's you to create sql queries.
