Hello,
I would like to have a number field in my tasks to have an ascending identifier. I can't use the JIRA Key, because I also have Sub-Tasks in my project and they should not count.
Example:
Task 1 is created -> customNumberField value in Task 1 = 1
Sub-Task 1-5 are created -> no change of the value.
Task 2 is created -> customNumberField value in Task 2 = 2
Task 3 is created -> customNumberField value in Task 3 = 3
So something like a project wide counter. Is this somehow possible?
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Katrin
Hello Katrin,
As mentioned by Alexey, it's indeed not possible.
I would use a different project to add the Sub-tasks issues. Performing it, the Sub-tasks would still be linked to your issues, however, the issuekey field would not count for it.
Hello,
It is not possible out of the box. You could create a custom field and fill it it on issue creation. But it would be a custom solution.
