How to create a custom field for issues created as Bug?

I am an Administrator for my project and would want to create a new custom field for the issue type 'bug' for a project related requirement.  We have already created good number of issues(Bugs) and now felt a need to have a custom field created.  Please help me with steps to create a custom field.

Hello @Sendil Kumar 

Custom fields can be created only by Jira Administrators. If you are only a Project Administrator you will need to work with your Jira Administrators to get what you want.
