How to create a limited guest permission in Next-gen projects

Principal Force May 26, 2022

Hello,

I have spent hours searching through Jira forums and using related information from them to help me with little success. At our company, we work with many different external clients and need to limit external users (our clients) from seeing our internal projects or seeing projects we have with other clients. One of the ways we have been bypassing this is by creating different organizations every time, which is not efficient at all. I understand that you can change the issue permission scheme, by linking it to a created guest project role with limited permissions. However, whenever we try to test this out with one of our existing users (stripping them from all of their permissions except the newly created guest group and or guest role), they still have access to all of the projects. Any help would be greatly appreciated since our company loves the utility of Jira, however, if we are unable to solve the security issue relating to permissions then we will have to move platforms. Just to mention a comparison, on Azure DevOps you are able to add a user to a specific project and they will exclusively see that project in the company's Azure space, hiding all of the other company projects from their view. Thank you for your help in advance.
