How to create a report about how long does issue stay in one status for Cloud Version?

Hi,

I am asked to provide a report on how long did an issue stay in one status. E.g., how long did it take for the issue to move from 'Backlog' to 'To Do', or, how long did an issue stay 'In Progress' status? 

We are using Jira Cloud version.

Does anyone know about it?

Hi @Donata.

There are 2 solutions for your issue.

Time in Status for Jira cloud automatically calculates the time spent in a specific status. It generates a report about the Time a task has spent in a particular status. Except for Time in Status report, you get Assignee Time and Average Time reports too.

Time between Statuses generates reports of the transition from status to status. So you can monitor how much time it takes for a task to move from one status to another.

Short-answer: There is no out-of-the box and easy way to do this. But, you could buy or build something.

Longer answer:

• What will you do with this information, and how often do you need it? If you only need this for one issue, just look at the activity log for the issue and do the math by hand.
• Otherwise, you could look at the marketplace to buy a product to find these measures
• When you don't want to spend more on JIRA, you can build your own solution using custom fields and automation rules
