How to create notification when someone is added or removed from project role

How could we setup notifications as an example to the project lead, whenever a user is added or removed from a project role?

Unfortunately Jira doesn’t have this functionality. I’ll suggest checking https://jira.atlassian.com to see if there’s an existing feature request for the function. Else you can create one request the function.
