We are trying to create a subtask from a checklist item when this checklist item is checked.

There is a "convert to subtask" option to do this manually, but is there a way to do this automatically when the checklist item is checked?

Hello, @Maaike Rietdijk and welcome to the community.

If you are using the Smart Checklist plugin to manage your checklists, you can convert checklists into subtasks by adding an automation rule.

You can learn more about automation on our wiki.

Hope this helps,
Oleksandr

Hello @Oleksandr Siryi_Railsware_ ,

I have a similar question. Hope you can help me.

I have an automation in place, where after issue creation is a SmartChecklist added to that issue. I already marked few of the checklist items as mandatory ... and ... Is there a way how those mandatory (or any other) SmartChecklist items are automatically converted to Jira 'user story' linked to the parent issue as 'realizes'?

As of now I had to click '3 dots menu' near each checklist item I want to convert and manually do so by selecting 'convert to Jira issue'.

Thanks a million!

Jan
