We created a custom field (tester) to assign a tester so we can keep the assignee field for the developer in charge of the story implementation. Now when we filter in the Backlog or Active Sprint view clicking on the avatar of a given Jira user, it shows only issues where he/she is the assignee. Is there a way to customize this filter, so the result includes issues where the jira user was assigned as a tester too? or using some special field to assign the person in charge of testing, so the avatar filter also searches based on this field too (OR condition: is assignee or tester). Thanks. David
Hello David,
The Avatar filter in the backlog view of JIRA boards cannot be changed on JIRA Cloud to be based on any other fields than Assignee, however, you can build quick filters in your board to display issues based on your tester field.
To create these filters, click on the three dots menu > Board Settings > Quick Filters, then configure the filters with the users as you want:
Let me know if this option works for you, David.
@Petter Gonçalves Thanks for your reply. It would be a workaround for a low number of team members, but I have more than 15, so I need to create a filter per member, considering the fact that the number of the team members may change in the future.

Hello David,
Have you already considered to use the assignee field to add the testers and your custom field to add the developers?
We have also created a feature request with our development team to implement the possibility to customize your Avatar filters:

@Petter Gonçalves Thanks. The request is great but it is not the same. My suggestion is to be able to customize what clicking on the avatar means. Now it means looking just for assignee. What I am suggesting is to be able to customize the filter criteria for a given jira user, but not just as Assignee. For example search if the user is the assignee or the tester (this can be specified in a Jira query by the user.
About the workaround, it would transfer the problem to the developer team, we have two teams (developers and tester), then we solve the problem for the tester team, but now the developer team won't be able to use it properly.
