How to delete active and closed sprint in JIRA v7.6.8?

Hello,

I am new to JIRA and just started using JIRA in our project. I am a JIRA admin but still cannot delete active and closed sprints. The JIRA version seems to be v7.6.8.

1. If a sprint has been closed and we don't want to see it in the sprint drop down list in JIRA reports such as Burndown Chart, how should I delete it or hide it in all reports?

2. If a sprint has started, the "Delete sprint" link disappears in the ellipse (...) menu.  How can I delete it?

The issue has been resolved by clicking "Delete sprint" button on the Sprint Report page (doesn't matter if the sprint has issues associated).

For the started sprint, I use a workaround by completing the sprint first so that the Delete button is available. Then I can delete it.
