Hi there,
so I ran into a really unique and weird issue.
What I am currently trying to do is, to edit the workflow of a team-managed business project in Jira Software.
I created several statusses which led to each status automatically generating a card in the board. Which is what I wanted to achieve, originally.
However, I now want to delete two old statusses and their corresponding cards in the board since I cannot delete cards without having a status for them and vice versa. The done statusses fall in the "done" category.
I tried entering the workflow, generating a "done" status and picking the one I created prior but deleting it does not remove it from the board when saving changes. Right now there are no issues linked to any of the old statusses.
I tried everything that was written in the documentation thus far but alas, it did not solve the issue.
Is there any way to fix this?
Thank you in advance.
Hi Alexander,
I understand that you have removed a status from a team-managed project, but are still seeing that status on the board view. I too was able to reproduce this behavior. Unfortunately, this is a recent bug in Jira Work Management boards within team managed projects. We are tracking this problem over in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JWMCLOUD-166
Sorry for the inconvenience here, I agree that these statuses should really not be showing on the board once they have been removed from the workflow, however there currently is no workaround for this behavior. I did find that if you create a Jira Software team managed project, such as a Scrum project, that you can correctly delete user created statuses from the workflow and those statuses will be removed as expected from the board. So perhaps that is one way to temporarily work around this bug.

Testing this some more, I found that if I opened an incognito browser and logged in there, the board will show correctly to me. However my existing session appears to be stuck on showing the old deleted columns.
This means that you should be able to clear the cookies for your Atlassian Cloud site and the browser cache as a means to work-around this problem. I will update the bug ticket with some more details on this.
Sorry again to have to do these steps to work past this problem, in general you should not need to clear browser cache just to make this work, but for the time being in this case, it seems necessary to make this board render correctly for your session.
