In my projects I have the usual hierarchy, Epics as parents of Stories. When I open the Epic I get the usual Child issues view. Where I circled it green it shows the Story Point value which we don't use, we use Original Estimates instead.
I have already removed the Story Point field from both Epic and Story issue types and I'm looking for a way to display the Original Estimate here in the Epic view instead of the Story Point value.
I've been looking everywhere but the solution for a simple problem like this seems to be well hidden.
I have been in touch with support, unfortunately the story point field can only be hidden, not replaced. There is a feature request to customise the child issues view: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-70206
To hide the story points field from child issues you can edit the context of the custom field Story Points and remove "Stories" from the issue types.
Hi @Simon Otten
I even set my board to use original estimate, but the field option you are referring to still is empty.
Could be a bug, you could raise this at Atlassian Support

Yeah all boards I have are set to Original Estimate / Time Estimates and I have removed the Story Points field from all issue types. I'll see if anyone has a answer and will otherwise raise a bug. Thanks for your reply

Hi @Simon Otten
I'd imagine that this is hardcoded / can't be changed, but I'd definitely reach out to Atlassian Support to confirm that. Kindly let us know what they say.
Also, I don't know if this problem justifies additional tooling for you, but see this thread for possible ways forward using apps from the Atlassian Marketplace.
Best,
Hannes

Thanks Hannes, you're right, not possible currently, posted an option above.
