How to display count of query from JIRA to Confluence dashboard

navneet budakoti March 19, 2025

I have a requirement to create sprint review board in JIRA, for that I need show the Committed and Achieved story points. I have created and JIRA query saved that as filter, now i have to show only the total of Committed and Achieved story points under respective columns.

I tried with JIRA macros in confluence with pie chart, two-dimensional table and few others but i am unable to fetch only total of SPs in Confluence dashboard.

Please help on this. would appreciate to have some easy solution for this

NOTE: On internet, I got the best solution of using two-dimensional table and use "Story points" for X-axis and "None" in Y-axis, but neither I saw story points in X-axis dropdown, nor i have option to select None in Y-axis.

Hi  @navneet budakoti ,

If to talk about Confluence, we can suggest trying the app that we develop - Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence.

Our macros support the native Jira Issues macro, so you'll be able to pull your dynamic issue list from Jira to Confluence and aggregate/visualize it with the help of our macros (for example, Pivot Table and Chart from Table).

If you are not familiar with the app, please book a call with the team - we'll show you the use case live.

HI @Stiltsoft Support

Thanks for your response, I need to check with my organization if we can utilize any third-party plugins, if yes, I would definitely reach out to you.

Hi @navneet budakoti,

For displaying this, you need a kind of sprint velocity macro, which is capable to calculate the sum of story points based on historical data.

Confluence does not have a native macro like this, so you will need to a plugin from Atlassian Marketplace.

In case you consider the idea of using a plugin, our Great Gadgets app for Confluence Cloud offers a Team Velocity macro that can easily calculate and display these numbers for your sprints as a bar or line chart.

The gadget can display many other numbers, such as average velocity, final commitment, scope changes, % completions, etc. Optionally, it can display a Data tab with a detailed report for every sprint.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions or need help with this macro, feel free to contact us directly at support@stonikbyte.com.

Danut.

Hi @navneet budakoti ,

If I understand your requirements correctly, the Scrum Velocity Macro is what you're looking for. After selecting the project and board as well as other parameter, you can display the commited and completed Story points per Sprint among other things.

I hope this helps.

Greetings
Philipp

HI Philip

Thanks for your response,

I tried searching for "Scrum Velocity" macro in my confluence set up, but I could not find it, am I using the right name for macro? if yes, is it possible my organization does not enroll or have this macro available?

Hi Navneet,

oh sorry, I was talking about a Jira Dashboard Gadget. I'm afraid I don't think it's possible to get this info into a Confluence page using a built-in macro.

Greetings
Philipp
