HI, I have a question for the best approach regarding the Usage of Jira with multiple ressource dependencies. My Case is the following:
When I have a project called Test (TST) where we plan a task, lets say "implement and Test XXX" (TST-123) i will assign any person as a ressource to it, who needs to do the task. with this I can generate different overviews about the tasks assigned to a specific person, can visualize it with a gantt Structure Plugin, etc. So far so good.
But how can I handle other dependencies like Hardware ressources? Lets say for Task TST-123 I assigned the Person John Doe to do it, but he needs some Test Equipment to do it. TestSystem01. how can I visualize it, that this task blocks not only a person but also a Hardware? creating a custom field and create jira hardware users for it?
Do you have any recommendations or best practices how to handle such a case?
One work-around I have seen for people-helping the Assignee is to add a multi-select custom user field, such as Additional Participants. You would need to perform your own dependency and reporting analysis (probably with JQL) to use it.
Kind regards,
Bill
