How to do discard approval from jira

It really depends on how the workflow is configured. Usually there should be at least 2 options - Approved and Rejected in the workflow to handle both the cases. Based on that the issue can go to the relevant status. Not sure if you are using Jira Software or Jira Service Desk but take a look at this link for more details.
